This policy explains what personal information Sankofa Technology & Consulting collects through this website, why, who can see it, and how you can access, correct or delete it.

Who we are Sankofa Technology & Consulting (“Sankofa”, “we”) operates this website from Montreal, Quebec, Canada and Kigali, Rwanda, and is responsible for the personal information collected through it. You can reach the person in charge of protecting personal information at info@sankofa-corp.com. What we collect, and why We collect only what you give us through this site, plus the minimum technical information needed to run it. - Contact form: your name, organization, email address, country (optional), the topic and timeline you choose, your message, the page you sent it from and the language of the site. We use this to reply to your enquiry and to follow up on it. - Field Notes newsletter: your email address, the page you subscribed from, the language of the site, and the dates you subscribed, confirmed and unsubscribed. We use this to send you Field Notes and to keep a record of your consent. - Job applications: what you send us when you apply for a role, by email or through the application link on the posting. We use it only to consider your application. - Technical information: your IP address is used briefly to limit how often a form can be sent, which protects the site from abuse. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for security. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or rent personal information. Services that help run the site Depending on how the site is set up at a given time, we may also use: - a cookie-free analytics service that counts visits to each page without identifying you; - an error-monitoring service that receives technical details when a page fails, such as the browser and the page address, but not your IP address or what you typed into a form; - Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a form is sent by a person rather than a program. If you contact us on WhatsApp, the conversation is also handled by Meta under its own privacy policy. Who can see it Only the Sankofa staff who handle enquiries, applications or the newsletter, in Canada and Rwanda. We use service providers to host the site and to send email; they process information on our behalf and only for that purpose. Your information may therefore be stored or processed outside the country where you live, with safeguards suited to its sensitivity. How long we keep it We keep enquiries for as long as they are useful to answer you and follow up, applications for the length of the hiring process, and newsletter records for as long as you are subscribed, plus the time needed to show we had your consent. You can ask us to delete your information sooner. Your rights You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Every Field Notes email contains a link to unsubscribe in one click. To make a request, write to info@sankofa-corp.com; we answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or Rwanda’s National Cyber Security Authority, depending on where you live. Changes to this policy If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
